How this tool works

TikTok pays creators through two main programs. The original Creator Fund (launched 2020, now closed to new applications in most regions) paid approximately $0.02 to $0.04 per thousand views. The Creativity Program Beta (launched 2023, rebranded in 2024) pays significantly more: $0.40 to $1.00 per thousand views (RPM), with the rate varying based on video length (must be at least 1 minute), audience location, engagement rate, and content category. The calculator uses the midpoint of published RPM ranges for each program. Because TikTok does not publicly guarantee specific rates and payouts fluctuate, the output is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Worked example

Creator profile: Lifestyle niche. Enrolled in Creativity Program Beta. Average views per video: 85,000. Videos posted per month: 12. RPM: $0.50 (midpoint estimate). Per-video earnings: (85,000 / 1,000) x $0.50 = $42.50 per video. Monthly earnings: $42.50 x 12 = $510 per month. Annual earnings: $510 x 12 = $6,120. At different view levels: 10,000 views = $60 monthly; 50,000 views = $300 monthly; 85,000 views = $510 monthly; 200,000 views = $1,200 monthly.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between the Creator Fund and the Creativity Program?

The Creator Fund (launched 2020) is the legacy program with lower RPMs. The Creativity Program Beta (launched 2023) pays 10-25x more but requires videos of at least 1 minute in length and 10,000 followers. TikTok has been transitioning eligible creators to the Creativity Program.

  • Why do my actual earnings differ from this estimate?

TikTok's fund distributes a fixed daily pool among all eligible views. When more creators generate eligible views, the per-view rate drops. The RPM is not guaranteed and fluctuates daily. This calculator uses published midpoint estimates, not TikTok's real-time rate.

  • What views count toward Creator Fund earnings?

Only views from accounts in eligible countries (US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain) count. Views from non-eligible countries, views your own account generates, and views on duets or stitches of your content may not count. Live streams are separate from Fund earnings.

  • Do I need a minimum number of views to earn from TikTok?

No minimum views per video, but you need at least 10,000 followers to enroll. The minimum payout threshold is $10 for Creator Fund and $50 for the Creativity Program. You must reach the threshold before TikTok releases the payment. Test both approaches with real data from your business before committing to a single strategy.

  • Can I be in the Creativity Program and also do brand deals?

Yes. The Creativity Program does not restrict brand partnerships. Most creators who qualify for the program treat it as baseline income and layer brand deals on top. Branded content is typically disclosed separately and does not affect your fund RPM. Test both approaches with real data from your business before committing to a single strategy.

  • How does TikTok Series work?

Series lets creators sell access to exclusive content playlists (up to 80 videos) directly to followers for a price they set ($0.99 to $189.99). It is not RPM-based. This calculator covers RPM programs; Series revenue depends on your pricing and subscriber conversion rate.
