How this tool works
Select your start and end dates, choose your weekend type, and the calculator steps through every calendar day, removes weekend days per your selection, removes gazetted public holidays, and returns the working day count.

Frequently asked questions
What weekend days does Pakistan use?
Most Pakistani private sector companies follow a Friday-Saturday weekend. Some multinationals, banks, and international organizations use Saturday-Sunday. Government offices typically use a Saturday-Sunday schedule with early Friday closure for Jumu'ah prayer. Choose the pattern that matches your organization.
Why do Islamic holidays shift each year?
Islamic holidays follow the Hijri lunar calendar, which is 10-11 days shorter than the Gregorian year. This means each Islamic holiday falls approximately 10 days earlier in the Gregorian calendar each year. Exact dates also depend on official moon sighting announcements, which can shift a holiday by one day.
Does this include provincial holidays?
This calculator covers gazetted national public holidays announced by the federal government. Provincial holidays, such as Sindh Culture Day or KPK-specific observances, vary by province and are not included by default. Use the custom holidays field to add them for your specific location.
How accurate are the Islamic holiday dates?
The dates embedded in this calculator are based on official government announcements for past years and astronomical projections for future years. Islamic holiday dates are always approximate until confirmed by the government or the official moon-sighting committee. The calculator shows a disclaimer noting dates may shift 1-2 days based on moon sighting.
How do I add company-specific holidays?
Use the custom holidays date picker to add any dates not on the official calendar. Common additions include factory closure periods, company annual day, or additional days granted around major Islamic holidays when the government announces extra closures.
Does the calculator account for the year the Ramadan falls?
Yes. Ramadan-related holidays (Eid ul-Fitr at the end of Ramadan, Shab-e-Qadr during the last 10 days) are embedded based on projected dates for each year. Because these depend on moon sighting, treat dates within 2 days of the projected date as approximate.
