How this tool works

Fill in your pin copy, pick a dark high-contrast theme, and watch a 1000 by 1500 pixel canvas update in your browser. Everything is drawn with the Canvas API locally. Click Download PNG to save the file with no server upload.

Worked example

A finance tool pin with gold accent on a near-black background, category chip FINANCE, title in large white type, three bullet lines, and onsumo.com in the corner exports as a ready-to-upload Pinterest image.

Frequently asked questions

  • What size should Pinterest pins be?

The standard feed pin is 1000 by 1500 pixels (2:3 ratio). This tool defaults to that size and also supports 735 by 1102, 600 by 900, and a 1000 by 1000 square option. Pinterest recommends the 2:3 ratio because taller pins take up more vertical feed space without triggering truncation, which gives your headline more time on screen as users scroll.

  • Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The pin is drawn in your browser with the Canvas API. Text, colors, and optional logo files never leave your device unless you save the PNG yourself. This is useful if you are working with unreleased product images or confidential brand assets that should not transit third-party servers.

  • Why use dark backgrounds on pins?

Pinterest feeds sit on a white page. Dark pins with vivid accents stand out next to pale stock photos. Light backgrounds often disappear at thumbnail size. That said, test both: some niches like home decor and food perform well with bright, airy aesthetics. Use the preset themes to generate one dark and one light variant, then compare saves and clicks after posting both.

  • Can I use my own brand colors?

Yes. Pick any preset theme or enable custom colors to enter exact hex values for background and accent. Title text automatically adjusts to light or dark for readability based on your background's luminance. Enter your primary brand color as the background and a complementary accent for the title bar to keep pins visually consistent across your entire profile.
